Body Shaming

All about the Bass seems to the song of the moment right now. A lot of people seem to like it ,but when i listen to it it feels as if a knife is stabbed at my heart. Ever since I was little I was told that everyone was created exactly the way that they were supposed to be created. People are the creation of something extraordinary and their bodies are just a casing to the soul inside of them. I understand that the song has the message of being proud of being in the body that you have and a couple extra pounds are alright and I agree with that a hundred percent. But what I don't agree with is the movement that seems to be going around to put people who are smaller and tinier waisted down. How is that ok? Making fun of someone who is smaller is just as bad as making fun of someone who is bigger. It hurts the person the same way. Some people have a higher metabolism. Some try to gain weight  so hard but can't. How is it ok for another to mock them and call them an anorexic or question them in a condescending way to ask them if they have an eating disorder. I have noticed time and time again that if someone is larger and is made fun of , social media turns into World War III. People who don't even know you will stand up for you and tell you that you are beautiful and you are perfect just the way you are. I agree with that fully but the thing is when someone who is smaller and is questioned for their body people start telling them that they need to "eat a cheeseburger" and feed to the bully making it seem as if it's no big deal. There is no storm. There is no anger. The girl is just left there and is told to deal with it. Why. Why the hell is that ok. IT'S NOT. There seems to be a double standard that should be there. I don't understand who came up with this double standard but it seems to be there. There are so many campaigns going around saying things like real women have curves. What about the percentage that don't? Does that make them any less of a women? They might already feel self-conscious about what they look like, why do they need that message to follow them everywhere they go. When I see things on TV and they show "real" women why do they mostly show larger women. What about everyone else? Some might not agree with me but these are my two cents. To me a real women is a women who does what she loves and faces the world day by day. A real women works toward her goals and doesn't stop until she gets there. A real women has a sparkle in her eye when she talks about something she loves and glows when she is happy. That is what a real women is. It is not about what she looks like. That doesn't matter at all. A body is just a covering to the real beauty which is your soul.
