Despite everything 

That has has happened 

In the 

Past

And

Present

I still like to believe that people have good in their hearts

The actions of few 

Don't define a group at large

And 

In the rubble of everything bad that has happened 

Time and time again

People have come together with so much love and strength 

It shows promise that hatred won't fully take over any time soon

And

That promise tells me that we'll turn out alright

and
so will the generations that are raised by ours
